We are once again hoping to provide meals for our staff during Parent Teacher Conferences later this month. This is a great way to help out the staff during a very busy couple of days. The teachers really appreciate and enjoy this!
For conferences on October 27th, we are seeking volunteers to provide food, beverages, and paper goods. The food can be dropped off at the school or delivered there.
For conferences on October 29th, we are asking for donations to provide a catered meal from Cafe Salsa for the group. Any amount is helpful!
If you are able to help cover the cost please follow the below instructions:

Volunteers Needed for Spring Avenue Book Fair - October 23rd-29th
We're excited to announce that our annual Spring Avenue Book Fair is coming up soon, and we need YOUR help to make it a success!

Book Fair Schedule:
*Thursday, October 23 – unpacking and setting up book fair
*Friday, October 24 – Student browsing during the school day (no sales). Volunteers help students complete wish lists
*Monday, October 27 – 12:00-7:00 pm during Parent-Teacher Conferences (no student attendance), volunteers help with check out
*Wednesday, October 29 – Student purchasing during the school day, 4:00-7:00 pm during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Volunteers help with check out and pack up.
We Need Volunteers!
The Book Fair is a wonderful community event that brings the joy of reading to our students, but it can't happen without parent volunteers. We need help with:
*Setting up and organizing the Book Fair
*Assisting families during shopping hours
*Helping students during purchasing times
*Managing checkout
*Breaking down the fair at the end
Even an hour of your time makes a huge difference! No experience necessary—just a willingness to help our young readers find books they'll love.

Fun Lunch - Friday, 10/17
The first Fun Lunch of the year is this Friday, October 17th from Ledo’s. Your child will be served cheese pizza or chicken tenders plus chips, dessert, and a drink.
Thank you to all who have volunteered to help pass out lunches!
We are partnering with Ledo’s Pizza again this year to showcase your child’s artwork on his/her very own pizza box. Ledo’s will generously donate 15% of proceeds from any order back to the PTO.
Be sure to Mention Spring Avenue when you order to ensure your purchase is credited.
TODAY, Kindergarten students will have the opportunity to showcase their own pizza box artwork.
How It Works:
*Each month, one grade level will create custom pizza box designs.
*Parents can order a 16” pizza from Ledo’s and have it packaged in their child’s one-of-a-kind pizza box on a designated date.
* To participate, simply call Ledo’s to place your order and provide your child’s name when their grade level is featured.
We’re excited to see our students’ creativity shine through this partnership, and we appreciate your support in making this fundraiser a success!
🍕🌭 Spring Avenue Fun Lunch! 🌭🍕
Fun Lunch is back!
The Spring Avenue PTO is hosting four Fun Lunches this year with kid-pleasing food delivered to school from local restaurants.
Just like last year, we're asking you to opt in or out of all four lunches as a package. When you submit this form, you'll select which menu item your student wants from each restaurant. (If you have multiple students at Spring Avenue, please scroll down and enter each child's preferences in a different box.)
Fun Lunch will take place during the regular lunch hour on the following dates:
October 17: Ledo's
December 12: Cafe Salsa
March 13: Mangia Mangia
May 22: Buona Beef
Please consider helping the PTO offset the cost by donating $35 for each child who participates. (The one-time payment covers all four lunches.) The PTO expects Fun Lunch to cost $9,000 this year, so your support helps ensure we can keep this kid-favorite tradition going.

Picture Day is THIS THURSDAY, September 11th!
Some things to think about before picture day as they are the most common reasons we see kids get retakes:
Do you want them to remove/keep glasses on?
If they're wearing a cardigan or fleece do you want them to take it off?
Hair up/down/behind their ears?
Remind them to SMILE!
Speaking of retakes.....they will be Tuesday, October 28th in case your child has to miss or you are not happy with their picture.
